The brain training provided by Nicholas Sieveking, MD, Jan Stanley, RN, and the team at Ageless Regenerative Medical takes advantage of the brain's ability to improve in response to new experiences. Brain Training Q & A

What is Brain Training?

brain computer interface

Brain training improves the way your brain works using computer programs that respond to your own brain waves. Many brain training programs display different activities and tasks. Each one specifically activates (trains) certain areas of your brain.

During your brain training session, you wear electrodes that pick up your brain waves and send them to the computer. The computer translates the types of brain waves and uses them to control the tasks presented on the monitor.

You get immediate feedback by seeing how your brain waves affect the program. Then you practice using your brain waves to achieve the required tasks. For example, you may need to line up items, make an item move faster or slower, or rearrange a sequence of items.

When you regularly engage in brain training and keep completing the tasks, your brain learns new brain wave patterns. Over time, your brain regulates its own activity and performs at the higher functioning levels achieved through your training. As a result, you notice an improvement in your memory and other symptoms.

Why would I need Brain Training?

Brain training can help improve a wide range of problems, from age-related brain changes to underfunctioning brain areas associated with mental health disorders.

As you get older, your brain waves change and the brain's ability to regulate neural communication diminishes. These changes affect your memory, thinking processes, and ability to complete daily tasks. Brain training can resynchronize your brain and boost these skills, improving memory and providing better mental clarity.

Beyond aging issues, brain training supports better brain function and diminishes the symptoms associated with problems such as:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Poor working memory
  • Bipolar depression
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Sleep disorders

Brain training also helps some people get relief from chronic pain syndromes.

How many Brain Training sessions will I need?

The most important part of brain training is to stick with a consistent routine until you achieve results. Like changing any habit, it takes time and attention to retrain your brain waves to perform at a better level.

For most people, Ageless Regenerative Medical recommends two sessions a week for at least two months. Each session lasts about 30-40 minutes. Depending on your progress, we may also provide remote devices so you can continue brain training at home.
